You are right about a lot of what you said...the thing is, as admins, the posts that annoy us the most are the ones that are made in RESPONSE to the noobery. Sure, when people ask stupid questions like the Lambo doors thing...I can understand that. But we, as veterans, sometimes don't even realize that we chastize good, honest, normal people. I've had GOOD car friends of mine post only to be BLASTED when they aren't asking stupid questions or silly things. Sure, they could have used search and sure, they should have read the FAQ...but they literally never wanted to come back because of it. I just didn't realize the extent of it until it was someone I knew wasn't a jackass. Those good people ARE out there and we want them. If it means putting up with a jackass post or 10, it might be worth it. Oh and let me drop a bombshell for you. Do you really, REALLY think that the "punishments" we used before had any damn effect at all on stopping "noobs" from posting and reposting things like lambo door questions? Have you not noticed that it STILL gets asked 5-10 times a week? Put simply, as fun as it was, it was NOT working. So we're trying something new. Hell, at least there will be less garbage on the forum. If someone asks that question, there should be 1 or 2 posts below it telling them to search or read the FAQ and that's it.
